In the webinar we learned:

Connect your sustainability work to make faster progress

Successful sustainability programmes make the most of connections. Build on existing data, relationships and know-how to connect the strands of your programme.

Be ambitious!

Set your sights high and commit publicly to what you want to achieve. Create a plan or roadmap with steps that challenge you to keep doing more.

Communicate

Turn technical reports into action. Use clear, engaging communications to influence decision-makers so they understand and act on technical findings. This will also help you win support from your stakeholders like suppliers. But beware of ‘greenwash’ and ‘greenhush’.

Revisit data and assumptions regularly

Your decisions and actions are only as good as your data. For example, there’s no point in setting a target to reduce your carbon emissions if you’re not starting from the ‘right’ baseline. Things change, including emission factors, your own operations and what your stakeholders expect of you. Update your data and assumptions to match.

People matter too!

Environmental, social and economic goals are linked. Tackling social goals will help you make faster progress on your other goals too.
