Emily Townsend

Emily has over ten years experience working in sustainability and is the President of the Life Cycle Association of New Zealand (LCANZ). With a background in the construction materials sector and experience in continuous improvement, she is experienced at finding ways to enhance outcomes and reduce impacts, progressively improving sustainability performance.

An experienced LCA practitioner, she supports better decision-making through life cycle thinking, and provides robust, transparent information to enhance product sustainability. She is a strong believer in the key role of business in the transition to a sustainable future.

Emily is on the Sustainable Materials Advisory Panel and Aotearoa New Zealand Working Group for the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC).

Originally from the UK, she is loyal to the British version of Marmite. Emily is an accomplished piano player with a fondness for the ragtime style and is also an expert napkin folder.
