Martin Fryer

Martin has made a career out of effecting positive change from the inside – 99 percent of his working life has been spent helping large corporate organisations to succeed sustainably. He is a Chartered Environmentalist who works with clients on sustainability strategy, climate-related risk, materiality assessments, and all manner of corporate disclosures.

A personal connection to sustainability has consciously spilled over into his work and Martin helped Auckland Airport publish the first science-based target in New Zealand and improved the maturity of TCFD disclosures at Mercury. Always interested in sustainability, he worked on our first second party opinion (SPO) for a sustainability-linked loan.

Interacting with the next generation of sustainability professionals has given him hope for what he can contribute to the climate fight, and what we can collectively achieve. When he’s taking a break from fighting climate change, Martin can be found with his family – whether he’s heading to the nearest park for a run or playing the guitar.
