What is the ALCAS 2025 Conference?

Hosted by the Australian Life Cycle Assessment Society, ALCAS 2025 is the premier event for life cycle professionals, researchers, and sustainability leaders in the region.

This year’s theme explores the role of next-generation LCA tools and knowledge in enabling sustainability transitions - from alternative energy and products to circular services and systems. The conference brings together a diverse mix of green building designers, product manufacturers, government, researchers and climate professionals to learn, debate and collaborate.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for the ALCAS Young Sustainability Leaders Scholarship, you must:

  • be aged 18–30
  • be working in sustainability or studying towards a qualification relevant to sustainability, such as environmental science, engineering, communications, policy, design, law or business.
  • be unable to attend without financial support (i.e. you cannot be funded by your employer, institution, or another source).

What does the scholarship include?

  • A full conference pass to attend ALCAS 2025 in person (valued at up to $1,500.)
  • Networking opportunities with industry leaders, researchers and professionals
  • A breakfast with thinkstep-anz LCA experts and fellow scholarship recipients
  • Insights into cutting-edge LCA tools and sustainability strategies shaping Australia’s future.

Note: Travel and accommodation are not included and must be arranged by the recipient
