Matthias co-founded thinkstep-anz and oversees all financial and strategic matters. He is a firm believer in collaboration and is always on the lookout for partnerships that actively enable SDG17 in the industry. Juggler of many hats, he also serves as the resident IT expert.
His varied experience includes Services Manager at Victoria University of Wellington's International department and General Manager Communications and IT at a Services Organisation with 600 staff in Munich. He started his career as a radio journalist during the pioneering days of private radio stations in Germany. As Chief Editor for Radio N1, he oversaw coordination of reports from Berlin when the Wall came down in 1989. A Fulbright Scholar with a Masters Degree in Journalism and a Postgraduate Diploma in Life Cycle Management, he is able to easily connect the dots between business, marketing, communication and sustainability.
Matthias has a deep fondness for bumblebees and runs a makeshift rehabilitation center in his home for all injured bees that cross his path.
