Greta Menzies

Greta is an experienced graphic designer, illustrator and artist. She has worked as a freelance designer for over a decade, working with environmentally conscious New Zealand brands like Starfish, Kowtow and Thunderpants.

Greta produces infographics and designs documents such as Environmental Product Declarations and sustainability reports for clients. She also works nutshell case studies such as this for New Zealand-farmed King salmon.

Greta holds a master’s degree in design which focused on sustainable practice in textiles and fashion. She has tutored design students at Victoria University and Massey’s College of Creative Arts in Wellington.

Considering their impact on the planet has always been important for Greta and her ecologist partner. This framing has guided which clients they work with, where they live, and what they buy. They live centrally so walking and biking with their family is easier, and love opshopping for second-hand treasures to upcycle rather than buying new.

Heavily involved in the arts, Greta has a multidisciplinary practice and exhibits regularly in solo and group shows in galleries around the country. Outside work you’ll find her sculpting ceramic pieces in her studio or sharing her skills with others in weekend workshops.
